Most of you know that we were at WPPI in Vegas last week, and man was it fun!! Not only was it our first time at WPPI, it was our first time in Vegas! The only way we could describe our first experience in Vegas is with the word Intense. There were a ton of people with pretty interesting tastes in clothing (or lack of clothing)… how ever you want to look at it
We were told to be prepared to see everything in Vegas & to come home exhausted. We’ll admit that we were a little overwhelmed when we landed because as soon as we got to baggage claim there were tons of people, slot machines, giant LED screens, & advertisements (of every sort) everywhere!
Welcoming us to Vegas was our cab driver. Riding in a cab was another first for us:) We actually had a pretty cool driver, and we were definitely surprised because we weren’t picked up in a yellow taxi cab from the 90′s like you always see in movies.

We began our first day by having brunch with Zach & Jody, then explored the hotel while running into a few photographers like our good friend Ginny Corbett.

Later that evening, we joined the Pictage peeps for a party at Mandalay Bay. There we saw a few fellow Nashvillers and many more photographer friends from all over! We of course had to hop in the photobooth with Zach & Jody (… who can resist a photobooth?), and joined a few other photogs in the dance room. All we have to say is… Mary Marantz can seriously dance ![]()

Monday & Tuesday were officially our Showit days! We joined DJ & the rest of the Showit folk in their setup for Showit Live (video coming soon
) and in the process we had the privilege to run into the gorgeous Jasmine Star & hubby, JD. Throughout these two days, we shot video of most of the Showit hangouts, meetups & even had our own meetup with photographers. We enjoyed speaking with all you Showiteers about photography, business, Fusion, & life in general.

We also had the privilege to meet fellow Showiteer Promise Tangeman, who has the most amazing hair & designs some of the most amazing websites we’ve seen! You can say that I (Heather) got “Promise-ed”

Although we had a 6AM flight on Wednesday, Eugene stayed up til 2AM with Andrew Barlow (Showit stud) & Stephen Knuth playing Madden ’11. It was well worth it
Eugene & Stephen’s game was first… and let us say that Eugene never loses Madden… Never! But somehow, some way, Stephen beat him (although it was very close.) So we said good night to Stephen & Eugene moved on to the next game with Andrew. It was half way through that game when we realized that Stephen had beaten Eugene because he had switched his play level to “Rookie” & didn’t tell anyone. Props to you, Stephen, for pulling it off without anyone noticing. Nobody, of course, can let this go so there WILL be a rematch the next time Eugene sees him.

We truly enjoyed meeting all you photographers, Showiteers, & Vegas peeps. We will definitely be coming back & we will definitely be staying longer to experience all the wonders of Vegas!
