Happy Tuesday, folks! Today we want to share the awesomeness of Google Voice with you! How many times have you given clients your personal phone number & they’ve taken advantage of it by calling you after work hours? It’s so tempting to answer their call, right?… Be tempted no more! Google Voice will give you one phone number that you can use as your business line, & it can reach multiple lines. In our case, we have one business line that will ring both of our phones when a client calls.
Another awesome feature of Google Voice is that you can set up a voicemail & “business hours” for your new business line. This way, if a client calls you at 7:30 (when you’re eating dinner
) it will go straight to your voicemail. We’ll admit that it’s very difficult to not work after your set business hours because there’s no where to clock out, & most of us work from our home where the work is so easily accessible. This is where Google Voice comes in handy! If you set up your phone to only ring within your business hours, then you’ll be less tempted to think about work after hours, & over all, less stressed
When a client calls you & leaves a voicemail, a transcript will also be emailed to you; &, in our case, this can be pretty funny to read! Since we’re in the south, many people who contact us have southern accents & Google Voice will try to decipher what our southern people say. When reading these transcripts, you’ll get a pretty good idea what people say, but some words & names can be spelled quite funny; but that’s why you have a voicemail, right?
The best feature of Google Voice is that it’s FREE! There’s no monthly or yearly fee, & you won’t be charged extra by your carrier (no matter who you use!) We hope we’ve made this clear for you! Good luck! Let us know what you think of Google Voice!
