It’s funny how many adults don’t know what Flag Day really is. Sure, we probably learned in elementary school, but very soon forget because it’s not as celebrated as July 4th! Well, Flag Day is VERY important because June 14th is the anniversary date of when our country adopted our flag! What’s a country without a flag, right? The whole week of June 14th is designated as “National Flag Week”; and it’s tradition that during National Flag Week, the president will issue a proclamation urging U.S. citizens to fly the American flag for the whole week. The flag should also be displayed on all Government buildings. Some organizations hold parades and events in celebration of America’s national flag and everything it represents. So this week, we urge you to fly our flag HIGH
and don’t forget how truly blessed we are as “one nation under God.”
