Monday Inspiration

One of the best decisions of our lives was getting married; and the second best decision we’ve made is to start a business together. When we first started our business, we worked All The Time! Those of you couples who own your own business know that there are perks and disadvantages of making your own schedule.

Perk: You can work whenever you want.
Disadvantage: You can work whenever you want

…and those of you couples who are just starting your own business or thinking about starting your own business, don’t freak out – it can be done! We have to make time to have fun and rest …and have a normal life.

We’re often asked “What’s it like working with your spouse?’ Don’t let the photos fool you, working together is not always perfect, sometimes it can be really frustrating… we’re only human, right? We know you’re probably thinking, How in the world is this suppose to be inspirational? Well, here’s the deal, when something good happens to one of us we don’t have to wait to get home from work to tell the other person about it – we get to share and experience it together. When one of our brides emails one of us to say that they LOVED their video, we get to experience it together.

Like any good team, there are players that are better suited for certain positions. The same is the case for us, together we balance each other out. For example, I [Heather] am good at keeping us organized, while Eugene will book an appointment without even looking at the calendar. While I [Heather] may set the appointments, Eugene is best at interacting with people.

One of our greatest inspirations is actually each other. We’re always trying to encourage and lift each other up. To all of our married couples who are running their own business, we hope that one of your greatest inspirations is your spouse.
