You ask yourself, “Why should I use a video on my website? It takes up space, time, and money; and I can portray the same message with a picture or text.”
Before you answer that, think about this:
* A picture is worth a thousand words, but a video can capture them all.”
For your website, a video should not be thought of as just something to take up space, or to just “busy up” your website. Rather, it should be used as a tool which can entice and interest your visitors in you, your business, or your product. It is the final piece to your puzzle
Text and pictures do well, but only go so far. People get bored having to read paragraphs or even pages about your business. They may read the first two paragraphs, but (let’s face it) people have a short attention span when it comes to reading. On the other hand, when watching your video, they can personally be introduced to you and your product in its environment (possibly a demonstration.) A video gives you a chance to show off your business or product & how it works. Also, if something you say or show is unclear, the visitor can always rewind and play back the video as many times as they wish.
No matter how many words or paragraphs you use, your point will never be conveyed as well as it could be by using a video. A video will (literally) give your customer a more vivid picture of your business; and will give your website a much higher response level.

With commercials like the one above, why do some companies settle for having a poorly put together commercial running on TV? Growing up in the small itsy bitsy town of Terre Haute, IN; I could almost understand crappy commercials, but this is Nashville. This is were all the creative people come to reside, and “Make it big” so to speak. There is no lack of creative people in this city, so that can’t be the reason for the cheap commercials.
“Cheap,” hmmm? Maybe thats our answer. Maybe companies just can’t afford to pay what it would cost to put together a good quality commercial? If thats the case, wow! Get a hold of us! We would almost respect it more if a company came to us and said, “We know we can’t afford you, but is there anything we can work out so that we as a company can have a good quality commercial?” If you can’t afford to get a professional, good quality commercial shot, than just wait until you can afford one. You don’t want a bad quality commercial to be the representation of your company.
Now don’t confuse a “corny commercial” with a “bad quality commercial.” There are alot of corny commercials that get the point across, and are actually shot really well! What is a crappy commercial? A crappy commercial is one that has shaky camera shots, bad audio levels, or badly colored video footage.
Nothing annoys us more than watching a commercial that has not only a cheap camera, but the shot is shaky! We understand that , cameras do cost a lot of money, and good cameras cost even more. Having a shaky shot on the other hand, is unacceptable, and shows that the videographer that was chosen was an amateur.
Now if you really want to distract your potential clients from the message of your commercial, have bad audio levels. The only thing that bugs us more than a bad shaky camera is having to scramble around for the remote to turn down the tv due to crazy audio levels.
Again, We don’t really know what the deal is with Nashville commercials lately, but it seams like for everyday that goes by, there is 2 new crappy commercials on tv. Consider companies such as Nike, Victoria’s Secret, and Cadillac. These companies are all very established, and extremely successful! So if these companies put so much of there attention toward producing good quality commercials even after being successful, why is it that new companies, or companies who are just trying to make a splash in the consumer world, put their commercials on the back burner? While living in such a media driven world, it’s nearly impossible to reach consumers without some type of video advertisement. Our suggestion, besides using us to film your next commercial, is this: If for some reason, you do end up with a poorly shot commercial, don’t air it. It will only give you a bad name, and leave all your viewers unsatisfied.
Now my wife wouldn’t let me post clips of the commercials we think were poorly shot, and after thinking it over, its probably good I didn’t. Instead, I’ll leave you with another one of our favorite commercials.
