This past weekend we got to go see Eugene’s youngest brother play football. Every time his brothers come visit us in Nashville, it’s a given that we’ll always play at least one game of football. Eugene & his brothers are all super competitive, whether it’s playing the newest Madden on Xbox or an actual game at the park. We had to shoot a wedding on Saturday, so we could only see Jesse’s game on Sunday. One thing that I learned from watching Eugene & his mom at this game is that there are some phrases that moms just aren’t allowed to yell at football games:
1.Awe! Did he hurt you?
2.Turn around for a picture!
3.(and the biggest no-no, no matter how deep you make your voice) That’s my baby!
All throughout the game Jesse played several different positions, but in the last 22 seconds of the game the quarterback was injured & Jesse became his replacement. I told you how competitive the three brothers are; and for Jesse being down 0-8 while his big brother was watching wasn’t cool. With a few completed passes & two bootlegs, Jesse managed the clock & led his team down the field; & how appropriate was it that Jesse scored the final touchdown. Unfortunately, the team wasn’t able to obtain the final two points; but it was really cool to see how excited everyone was for Jesse. It was then that I realized Jesse’s team of fifth graders almost beat a team of sixth graders!

Notice #4, that’s Jesse. He’s the smallest & fastest player on a team of fifth graders playing against a team of sixth graders!

That’s incredible! Glad you guys got to see him score a touchdown…I bet he was psyched (though like you said, probably still unhappy that they lost…but what an ending!)
Understand that some things will never change… baby’s running things, runnin’ the ball, running’ the cameras, just runnin’ thangs, and always My Babys! so there!!!!!
